St. Croix Valley Aquatics
Lifeguard Training Course - $200.00
This course
trains lifeguard candidates the skills and knowledge needed to
prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies. The course content
and activities prepare candidates to recognize and respond quickly
and effectively to emergencies and prevent drownings and injuries.
Upon successful course completion, participants will be certified in
Lifeguard Training, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and First
Aid.

Lifeguard Training Challenge - $85.00
The purpose
of a challenge course is to give individuals the opportunity to
demonstrate knowledge and skill competency outside a formal class
setting. Participants have sole responsibility for preparing
for the knowledge and skill evaluations.
Prerequisites:
- Successful completion of a precourse test of swimming skills.

Current Lifeguard Training certification and current CPR/AED for
the Professional Rescuer certification recommended.
Note:
There are no videos or lecture included in this course. Students
should study and practice on their own before the testing session.
Be prepared to perform all skills and take the written test.

Water Safety Instructor Course (WSI)-$185.00
This course
trains instructor candidates to teach the American Red Cross Learn
to Swim, and other water safety programs.
Prerequisites:
- 16 years of age by the last class session.
- Successful completion of a precourse test of swimming skills.
Details: The first session will consist of a skills pretest for
six basic swimming strokes (front crawl, back crawl, elementary
backstroke, breaststroke, sidestroke and butterfly). All skills must
be done correctly and effectively; all strokes must be done in good
form.
