Disaster Response
The St. Croix Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross reaches out to hundreds of disaster victims every year and provides immediate emergency relief such as food, clothing, shelter and emotional counseling. All Red Cross disaster assistance is free, made possible by generous donations of time and money from the American people. You can help by making a donation or becoming a volunteer.

Local Disaster Response
Red Cross disaster relief starts at the community level. Volunteers are on-call 24 hours a day, every day, to assist individuals affected by disaster in Eastern Washington County, MN and Polk and St. Croix Counties, WI. Disasters of any size create immediate needs for those who are affected. Red Cross volunteers meet with the individuals and families who are affected by disaster (clients) and provide immediate assistance for food, clothing, shelter and emotional or physical health care if needed.
The Red Cross provides a way for clients to purchase the items they need using vouchers. These vouchers can be used at grocery stores, general merchandise stores and other retailers throughout the community. Vouchers allow clients to select and purchase clothing and groceries, based on their needs and tastes. This provides a way for clients to feel a sense of control returning to their lives.
Once immediate needs have been met, Red Cross volunteers continue to work with each client to help them get on the road to recovery.
National Disaster Response
The American National Red Cross can call on a network of more than 800 Red Cross chapters nationwide to mobilize workers to support large-scale disasters throughout the United States.
Volunteers from the St. Croix Chapter Red Cross travel to national disaster relief operations to perform various duties, ranging from operating shelters to distributing food in devastated areas. During these operations, they join other experienced Red Cross volunteers from around the country who are trained to respond to national disasters. Learn More
Local Red Cross volunteers also help with national disaster response by working in the disaster field supply center and the national response center.
