Be Red Cross Ready

Donor Stories and Photos

Jack Hayek, left, started donating while in the National Guard Reserve as he said "many years ago".  Jack donates at many different sites, and every 56 days.
Thomas Kohman, right, started donating blood at the age of 25 and has now donated 100 units.  He said he doesn't understand why others don't donate because he feels so energized after donating.
Ethel Glampe, left, has donated 42 units - started the day Roosevelt died in 1945.  She started because of the war.  Ethel was too young and her father had to sign for her.  She continues to donate as she has

O positive blood.

Pete Nusbaum, right, has donated 13 units - twice giving double red cells.   He started in college at Mankato when his father needed blood due to a ruptured blood vessel in his neck -  a result of liver cancer treatments.  He continues to donate because he is O negative, which is a much needed blood type.
