January 2009 - Our home was destroyed by a chimney fire.  We were almost immediately contacted by the Red Cross.  A very nice and friendly woman came to my parents' home because that is where we were staying.  She gave us this "incredible" amount of vouchers to help us get back on our feet again.  I will never forget the Red Cross and the help they gave our family when we so desperately needed it.  ~ Angie

December 2008 - I want to say thank you so very much for all that you do for people in their time of need. I always knew the American Red Cross was for people who need help, but I had no idea how really wonderful & important this program was until I needed to call upon it in my own time of need. Last year after my home had a fire, the American Red Cross gave me and my son everything we needed to get back on our feet again with shelter, clothing vouchers and references to other help I would need, and a feeling that I was not alone in that scary situation.  This year things are back to normal and my son and I get to have Christmas in our home.
